Santa Claus is Coming to Twitter
November 7, 2009 by John ZimmermanThis year will be the first big season ever for retailers on Twitter.
It’s bigger with 20 million users, more stable, and higher usage trends. Are all of them educated on the best practices for turning Tweeps in Twofits? We’ll see.
Some notable Twitter success stories are Dell Computers and Best Buy.
Dell has sold over $3 million off of their Twitter marketing campaigns. How is that accomplished? They listened and responded to Twitter users with exactly what they are talking about. So think about students tweeting about buying a new computer to their peers on Twitter. Dell performs searches to find the conversation and sweeps in to save the day. The students get real live attention and a bond is formed. Then the purchase is made. Happy customer. Happy company. Thanks to Twitter. Thanks to getting educated about how to Tweet effectively.
Best Buy launched a Twitter Account called Twelpforce that is their e-hub online. They recently aired a commercial with a stadium full of Best Buy sales people. Ask a question and a sales person runs to help you out. This is the way to do business online. This is the Customer Service 2.0.
We’re looking forward the holiday season. Are you on Santa’s naughty or nice list? Follow Santa on Twitter.
